Our mission statement is “Building Balanced Leaders for the World’s Communities.”
Sigma
Phi Epsilon, founded in 1901, is now the largest college
fraternity in the nation by membership with more than 13,000
undergraduates in 257 chapters. The national average GPA of SigEp was a
remarkable 2.95 in the spring of 2004. That number has continued to
rise ever since. Sigma Phi Epsilon strives to make sure that its
members appreciate the advantages of having a sound body and mind so as
to make sure that when they move on to the next stage of their life,
they are the most productive and well-rounded individuals that they can
be. As an upcoming college student, one is faced with many new choices
about social issues such as drugs and alcohol.
Sigma Phi Epsilon goes to great lengths to educate its members on
alcohol and its effects so as to make sure that its members drink
responsibly or not at all. Nationally, SigEp is moving towards what we
call the “Balanced Man” program. This program is
designed to not only make brothers the best young men they can be, but
to also help shake off some of the bad press that fraternities receive
nationally. Breaking the “Animal House” image that
Greek houses hold in this country is a daunting task. We believe that
It is worthwhile cause.
Academic
performance and scholastic achievement are signs of Sound Minds at
work. Reinforcing the value of education and its importance, Sigma Phi
Epsilon exists to advance the mission of the college or university
where it has a chapter.
